Recent Stats on Divorce

Time Magazine reports:

The annual national divorce rate has dropped to 3.6 per 1,000 people, the lowest since 1970 and well off its peak of 5.7 in 1981. But marriage is down 30% since 1970, with the number of unmarried couples living together up 10-fold since 1960

You might be able to answer this:
If a husband physically assaults his wife, the wife leaves, the Husband then calls for a divorce and starts the proceedings
(This husband doesn't want to change)

> would the wife be free to remarry, lets say this husband is very secretive
> How would you find out if he committed sexual immorality?

If this is a Witness involved matter, I would highly recommend consulting with one's local elders. This sounds like a very sensitive situation and the full details need to be known before giving counsel/advice. Sorry to hear about this situation.

it is.. But its also frustrating.
We keep getting the same sort of answer
"The only way to divorce is sexual immorality" - Which is somewhat a useless answer..

algood if you cant advise, just wondering if you had any material on abusive husbands that will not change (essentially Narcissism)

I get the Bible says that in Acts - but surely that is hyberbole, that doesn't really seem right to me - would Jehovah really want a wife to stay with an abusive husband for the rest of her life?
