Las Vegas Shooting and World Peace

Another shooting occurred in America: the worst mass shooting in US history. I am saddened to see another senseless act of violence, and my heart goes out to the families, who lost loved ones. Conditions will likely continue to worsen until Jehovah's Day of Vengeance (Isa. 34:8). For now, Jesus' followers have an obligation to empathize with those who mourn and cry as we proclaim better news to honest hearts (Isa. 61:1-2).

You mentioning this must highlight your compassion.

2 Timothy 3:3 states that in the "last days" there would be people "without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness." (NWT) The NET Bible similarly has: "without self-control, savage, opposed to what is good, (4) treacherous."

What that man did was fierce, savage and treacherous to the extreme!

Thanks, Jim. I was moved by the death of those people, including a sister in the faith, whom I later learned about through a mutual friend. Yes, Paddock's actions were fierce, savage and treacherous. It will be interesting to learn what motivated him to commit this heinous act, but I believe that utter hatred and anger rest at the base of his actions. My wife also said the demons used that man. Yet wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse (2 Tim 3:13).

Yes, the Awake magazine #6 is ever so timely, and was available before the awful event in Vegas. Wow, how timely is that Awake. "Is this World Out of Control?" Indeed!

I am very sorry about the sister, it is sad to read news of violence day by day, there is no doubt that the day of Jehovah is already past (Psalm 31:10)
