"Power" in 2 Corinthians

2 Corinthians 1:8-Οὐ γὰρ θέλομεν ὑμᾶς ἀγνοεῖν, ἀδελφοί, [a]ὑπὲρ τῆς θλίψεως ἡμῶν τῆς [b]γενομένης ἐν τῇ Ἀσίᾳ, ὅτι καθ’ ὑπερβολὴν [c]ὑπὲρ δύναμιν ἐβαρήθημεν, ὥστε ἐξαπορηθῆναι ἡμᾶς καὶ τοῦ ζῆν·

2 Corinthians 4:7-

2 Corinthians 12:12-
τὰ μὲν σημεῖα τοῦ ἀποστόλου κατειργάσθη ἐν ὑμῖν ἐν πάσῃ [a]ὑπομονῇ, σημείοις [b]τε καὶ τέρασιν καὶ δυνάμεσιν.

2 Corinthians 13:4-καὶ [a]γὰρ ἐσταυρώθη ἐξ ἀσθενείας, ἀλλὰ ζῇ ἐκ δυνάμεως θεοῦ. καὶ γὰρ ἡμεῖς ἀσθενοῦμεν ἐν αὐτῷ, ἀλλὰ [b]ζήσομεν σὺν αὐτῷ ἐκ δυνάμεως θεοῦ εἰς ὑμᾶς.

I'm still scratching my head about the replacement of kyrious with Dynamis in the synoptic trial scenes ... and the shift from Dynamis in mark and matthew to Dynaneows tou theou in Luke. An understudied and perplexing issue.

I reviewed the examples you mentioned and I've seen them explained as circumlocutions, which raises more questions. How do we know they're circumlocutions--if they are--and why did circumlocutions become more common in 2nd Temple Judaism? That is, if this explanation is viable.

This is exactly what I've seen ... except Dynamis used as a circumlocation is extremely rare and is nowhere else used in the Gospels ...

You have many examples of Sabaoth (translated dynamis in the LXX) being used as name ... but then the question rises how did that end up in the synoptics? And why not kyrios?

IF the text included the tetragram in the autographs, and scribes changed it the kyrios, why dynamis here? if it was dynamis ... why that?

I have a lot of notes, and some research on this question, but I'm still stumped ... perhaps I'll email what I've found to you :P.

Go ahead and email your research. I will check it out: Sabaoth occurs in Zechariah 4:6 and in James 5, I think. I believe that J. Pennington and D. Bock have done work on these questions. U. Luz might also be helpful in the Hermeneia commentary on Matthew

A few verses later, we have Romans 1:20. Compare Eph. 3:7, 16, 20.
