1. Lexical Semantics (English)-Moisés Silva supplies this definition: "Lexical semantics is that branch of modern linguistics that focuses on the meaning of individual words. The field of semantics is of course subject to a much broader interpretation, for several other disciplines—philosophy, literary studies, anthropology, sociology, psychology, and even mathematics—have demonstrated their direct relevance to the study of human communication."
